OVERVIEW
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people go to the doctor, and it’s a leading cause of disability. Back pain is very common in the low back and can cause shooting pain down our legs, or radiate out through other parts of the body. Doctors often prescribe Pilates and/or physical therapy as a treatment so it’s very common for these worlds to intersect. Have you ever wondered what causes back pain? If there are things that make it worse? Or how to make it better?
Join Lyssa and Lauren, the Co-Founders of Athletic Lab, and Jessica, the Founder of Pilatesmith, at Pilatesmith Santa Monica for this workshop that’s all about the most common spine and disc conditions that cause back pain: Herniated/bulging discs, Degenerative discs, Spondylolisthesis, and Stenosis. We'll go over what they are, what they feel like, contraindications (what makes them worse), and how Pilates can help!
