Cancelations, Late Arrivals, and No-Shows.
Group Workouts can be canceled or rescheduled up to 12 hours before, and Private Training sessions can be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hours before.
Early Cancellations result in the return of the credit to your account for a future booking.
Late Cancellations result in the loss of the credit and for those on an Unlimited Group Membership there is a $10 Late Cancellation Fee.
We know life can be unpredictable so we allow a 10 minute grace period for anyone running late.
A No-Show results in the loss of the credit and a $20 fee. To avoid this fee just cancel your workout before it starts.
Group Schedules are self-managed so just visit the “Login” section of this site or download our app to login and manage your schedule.
Private Training schedules are managed by the studio as a premium service so contact us directly via email, phone, or text.
Recurring Private Training Cancellations. If you have preferred times and cancel your sessions frequently, we’ll shift you to booking week-to-week so we can offer those times to our waitlist. This allows us to better accommodate our customers and mitigates impact to our Trainers earnings since they are paid by the hour.
Waitlists. Booking in advance is the best way to get into the workouts you want. If a workout is full, we encourage you to find another time to ensure you get your workout in, but joining the waitlist is also an option. Here’s how it works:
If you see a "Join Waitlist" button instead of a “Book” button, it means you can sign up for the waitlist (if there is no button it means the waitlist is full)
If you sign up for the waitlist, consider it and manage it like a confirmed booking
If you can no longer make it, cancel yourself from the waitlist/workout roster
The 12-hour late cancellation and no-show policies apply to these bookings
1 hour before the workout starts, the roster locks and no one else will be moved off the waitlist
If you've enabled waitlist notifications, you'll be notified automatically if you got off the waitlist
To make sure you get waitlist notifications, log into your account from our website or our app, and check if you’ve enabled “Account Management” notifications for text and/or email; Texts are the superior notification option here because of their speed and a “No” response will automatically remove you from the waitlist, so we encourage you to sign up for "Account Management" text notifications
Cell Phones. No cell phones in workout rooms. If you’re expecting an important call, please tell your Trainer and excuse yourself.

FAQ
NEW SMITHS
What makes Pilatesmith different? In short: our athletic style of Pilates and our focus on serving those who are advanced in their practice. If you want the juicy details, read on:
Our Athletic Pilates style ensures a challenging workout every time no matter the level. It’s intense, physical, and requires full-body effort, delivering the benefits of Pilates while building overall fitness for maximum impact to your body's composition. This means you get results!
Our Group Workouts are leveled, and we prioritize advanced on our schedule for Pilatesmiths. At the advanced-level we have 3 formats that build strength in different ways so you won’t get bored or plateau. If you aren’t a Pilatesmith yet, offer intermediate, beginner, and prenatal & postnatal levels so anyone who’s serious about Pilates has a place to start. We also offer customized Private Training session every day of the week where your Trainer is with you every step of the way to ensure maximum results.
Why should I do Pilates? Pilates is a low-impact, weight resistance exercise method. It’s known for working the core - which is absolutely true - but it works the whole body and all the little muscles you didn’t know you had! It’s a technical method so knowing how to do it correctly goes a long way towards seeing results quickly. Teaching is tricky in a group setting, so Private Training is the best way to learn Pilates. The list of positive outcomes from Pilates is (very) long, but here are some of our favorites:
Tones and strengthens the entire body
Improves flexibility, mobility, and alignment
Helps relieve pain and prevent injury
Improves posture
Weight loss
Do you have introductory offers for my first time? Yes! We offer a deep discount on your first workout at Pilatesmith. Shop these New Smith Intro Deals on our New Smith page.
Do you offer “Classical Pilates”? Our Group Workouts are a mix of Classical and non-Classical (also known as “Contemporary”) exercises on the Pilates Reformer machine (not a Megaformer machine). We call our style “Athletic Pilates” to quickly communicate that it’s fitness-focused and you’re going to get a workout. If you’re looking for a true “Classical Workout” that uses only the original exercises and order that Joseph Pilates created, we can offer that in a Private setting!
How long are workouts? We follow the industry standard and offer 50-minute long workouts. Joseph Pilates taught 40-minute long sessions and said that’s all you should need if you’re doing it right! ;)
I’ve never done Reformer Pilates before, which workout is best for me? If you’ve never done Reformer Pilates we recommend starting with Private Training and starting with our $60 Private Intro Deal. It’s difficult to teach Pilates in a group setting because we can’t stop to teach you, and our Group Workouts move faster and are tougher than most! Private Training is the best way to achieve results quickly. In Pilates, small adjustments make big differences and your expert Trainer will watch you every step of the way. Plus, your workouts will be designed around your goals and will evolve with you so never plateau!
I’ve done Reformer Pilates, but it’s my first time coming to Pilatesmith. Which workout is best for me? It depends on your familiarity with Pilates, strength, coordination, and fitness level. You’ll find our Group and Private Training descriptions on our Workout Formats page. Keep in mind that we teach with an athletic style that’s intense and fast, and our workouts err towards the tougher side of the level, so we recommend leveling down for your first workout and then going from there. If you’re unsure, the best decision any day is to snag our $60 Private Intro Deal - it’s an amazing value for a Private Training session. You’ll be paired with one of our expert Trainers who will customize the workout for you and then after seeing you move can better guide you on what to do next.
If I have or had an injury, which workout is best for me? It really depends on the injury and where you’re at in your recovery, but usually Private Training sessions will be the safest way to gain strength, avoid re-injury, and rebuild your confidence in movement. Pilates started as a rehabilitative method for soldiers in WWI, which is why it’s often recommended by physical therapists as a way to restore the body and is a workout you can do throughout your entire life. Contact Us so we can discuss the best approach for you!
Do you offer prenatal or postnatal Pilates? We sure do! Check out our Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates page for details.
Should I sign up for Group Workouts in advance? Yes please! We do not take walk-ins.
How do I book a Group Workout? You can sign up for workouts directly from our Schedule page. Just click “Book” next to the workout you want and follow the prompts.
How do I book a Private/Duo/Trio? We book these through the studio. Just fill out a Private Training Request Form to get started. Note that you provide your workout partner(s) for Duos/Trios.
How early should I get there? We recommend leaving so you can park and walk through the door at least 5 minutes before your workout starts. This will give you time to check-in, put your grip socks on, and find a reformer. If it’s your first time visiting us, we suggest arriving 10 minutes early so we have additional time to make sure you have everything you need and we can show you around the studio.
